On May 8, 2020, Meranda Vieyra, CEO and Owner of Denver Legal Marketing, presented “Personal Marketing During COVID-19” to members of the Colorado Hispanic Bar Association. Meranda discussed increasing your visibility through personal marketing and business development.
Meranda started the discussion with personal branding. The current unprecedented times brought about by the coronavirus give law firms and solo practitioners an opportunity to be more than “just lawyers.” Consider this an opportunity to connect with both new and old members of your network through virtual options. Clients that already know, like, and trust you are the low-hanging fruit. Take care of them. Nail down your virtual client intake process and reception services. Ensure that current and potential clients know you are still open for business by sharing your hours of operation and how to contact your firm.
In the second part of the presentation, Meranda proposed many business development and marketing practices for both in-house counsel and private practices. She explained that this is a good time to manage your online presence to ensure the information is correct and up-to-date on your website, directories, and Google Business page. Credentialing activities should also be on your agenda, such as professional development, leadership opportunities, participating in organizations, article writing, and webinars.
